DescriptionKira are colorful ankle-length skirts traditionally worn by Bhutanese women, often in combination with a jacket known as a tego and a thin inner layer called a wonju. Kira are stitched together from three pieces of cloth woven on a back-strap loom. The resulting fabric is pinned at the shoulders with brooches known as koma and secured with a belt called a kera. These skirts are often colorful and intricately woven.
