DescriptionThis woven wickerwork vessel, or mask, if from Papua New Guinea and dates from the early to mid 20th Century. The object has cylindrical openings at both ends and brown in color with subtle stripes throughout the body. This vessel had been noted as a type of bride price currency and it is usually attached a shell of a giant Turbo Marmoratus snail shell.On View
